Gastric balloon is not a procedure that removes obesity or a stomach reduction surgery. No surgery is performed in this application.
This method is only used for overweight patients who are preparing for morbid obesity surgery for preoperative weight loss. In addition, it can rarely be used as an auxiliary method by people who are slightly overweight.
The method is simply: A fist-sized, water-filled balloon is placed in the patient’s stomach through endoscopy, and in this way, food intake is restricted and the patient is expected to lose weight.
With this method, patients can lose weight at a limited rate, and the balloon should be removed after a maximum of 1 year.
